The club’s exciting approach to running the facility is illustrated successfully as it is the young members of the club who take a very active part adopting key roles such as Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. The club has been in existence for over 50 years and although thriving the building has started to show its age so funding for refurbishment became a priority for Cllr. James Lavelle who has agreed to source funding for the facility. Cllr. Ian Franzen offered to help support the clubs Chairperson in his role and Cllr. Jonathan Miller has agreed to attend committee meetings. The Community Action Party has placed strong emphasis on youth and community issues in the Borough and is working hard to address the present lack of appropriate facilities that is failing our young people. “The Community Action Party wish to help, as newly elected councillors, to provide the facilities/funding that the Youth community of Lowton East deserve.” Cllr. James Lavelle The Community Action Party will continue to support the provision of play, sports, community facilities, youth cafes & meeting places throughout the Borough. |
At the Annual General Meeting of the Lowton Youth Club in June, Community Action Party Councillors, James Lavelle, Jonathan Miller and Ian Franzen pledged to help and assist the members in the running of the club.
